Sitters on Standby, Inc. a New York State licensed in-home child care agency, launched the Professional Tutoring Division in the Fall of 2008. Our Professional Tutors come right to your home or a location of your choice. We offer tutoring for the following subjects; reading, writing, math, science, foreign language and ACT/SAT Prep for students in grades K-12. We also have Professional Tutors available to assist children with exceptional needs.

Our tutors are independent contractors so once you have interviewed and decided upon a tutor that best fits your child's needs, you will be able to arrange a tutoring schedule that accommodates your family's busy calendar. Our professional tutors meet the highest standards and qualifications including; in-depth interview process, a national criminal background check, a sex offender background check, confirmation of New York State Teacher Certification and 3 professional and/or character references. We enjoy the highest reputation of integrity with both our candidates and the students they tutor.

To ensure an optimal match for your child's specific educational needs and personality, Tutors on Standby will send a representative from our agency to your home. We will meet with you and your child to assess his or her individual goals.

Tutors on Standby clients are billed directly by the agency. There will never need to be an exchange of money between the Client and the Professional Tutor.
